01 / Before shipping
Document the equipment
- Provide make, model, serial number, and requested service
- Describe symptoms and relevant operating conditions
- List every accessory included
- Remove batteries unless specifically requested
02 / Packing
Prevent transit damage
- Use a strong box with adequate clearance
- Immobilize the item with dense protective material
- Protect controls, connectors, displays, and heat sinks
- Double-box heavy or high-value equipment when practical
03 / Return shipping
Plan the return
- Use a trackable carrier and appropriate insurance
- Retain the tracking number and photos of packing
- Return shipping and insurance are normally customer-paid
- Original packaging may be replaced if it is unsafe to reuse
