Repair Diagnostics
// Measurement-first fault confirmation
Confirm the fault before committing to repair.
Arcovex RF provides limited bench diagnostics for amateur radios and selected RF equipment. The process starts with inspection and measurement so the reported problem can be confirmed before additional labor or parts are authorized.
Diagnostic fees cover initial bench work and are due even when repair is declined or not practical. Equipment is accepted case by case based on condition, serviceability, parts availability, prior work, and risk.
What may be included
The exact sequence depends on the equipment, reported symptoms, available documentation, and safe access to the suspected fault.
Visual inspection
Condition, contamination, damage, modifications, prior repair, and connector observations.
Supply and current
Power-input behavior and current draw checked where safe and appropriate.
Basic functions
Controls, display, audio, accessories, and operating functions relevant to the symptom.
Transmit checks
Supported RF output and transmit behavior used to confirm the reported fault.
Receive checks
Basic receive-function testing where supported by the equipment and complaint.
Repair assessment
Likely next steps, limitations, estimate, or recommendation when practical.
No open-ended repair authorization
The diagnostic establishes scope first. Additional labor and parts require customer approval.
Diagnose
Inspect, reproduce the symptom when possible, and collect useful measurements.
Approve
Communicate findings, limitations, and a practical repair path before proceeding.
Repair
Perform only authorized work, then verify supported functions after service.
Bench time starts with a defined diagnostic
Parts, shipping, unusual fixtures, extensive disassembly, and repair labor are separate unless specifically included.

Approved repair work
Repair labor
Authorized labor performed after the diagnostic scope and customer approval.
- Approval required
- Parts billed separately
- Post-repair verification
No work beyond authorization
Diagnostic fees remain due if repair is declined, parts are unavailable, the fault cannot be reproduced, or the equipment is determined to be uneconomical or unsafe to repair.
Some equipment needs review before intake
Accurate history helps determine whether the equipment can be accepted safely and economically.
