Coax & Jumper Testing
// Cable-path verification
Find the loss, mismatch, and connector problems.
Short RF jumpers and coax assemblies can quietly degrade a station, repeater, or test setup. Arcovex RF measures loss and match so you can identify questionable cables before they become troubleshooting variables.
Testing is available for common RF cable assemblies and connector types when suitable adapters and fixtures are available. The accepted frequency range depends on cable construction, connectors, length, and requested report scope.
What may be measured
The test plan is matched to the cable, connector system, length, and frequencies that matter to your application.
Insertion loss
Loss through the complete cable assembly at selected points or across a sweep.
Input return loss
Input-side match and reflections across the requested frequency range.
Output return loss
Output-side match when the accepted setup supports the measurement.
Standing-wave ratio
A familiar mismatch view at selected frequencies or across a swept span.
Continuity and shield
Basic conductor and shield checks where appropriate for the assembly.
Connector condition
Visible observations for pins, shells, strain relief, labeling, and workmanship.
More than a continuity check
A cable can pass DC continuity and still perform poorly at RF. Swept measurements reveal frequency-dependent loss and mismatch.
Energy that never arrives
Insertion loss shows how much signal is lost through the cable and connector assembly.
Energy reflected back
Return loss and SWR show mismatch that may come from connectors, damage, geometry, or construction.
Problems that vary by frequency
A sweep can expose behavior hidden by a single-frequency check.
Match the report to the cable
Batch pricing is available for multiple similar assemblies tested with the same fixture and frequency plan.
Basic check
Continuity + SWR check
A fast confidence check for an accepted cable assembly.
- Basic continuity
- Focused SWR check
- Condition note
Quick screening
Focused loss
Insertion-loss check
Document cable loss at agreed frequencies relevant to your setup.
- Selected frequency points
- Measured insertion loss
- Summary result
Targeted confidence
Full swept report
Return loss + insertion loss
A swept report documenting both loss and match across an agreed range.
- S21 insertion loss
- S11/S22 where applicable
- SWR and response plots
Most complete option
Final pricing depends on connector type, cable length, requested frequency range, adapters, fixture setup, condition, and quantity.
Remove uncertainty from the RF path
Useful anywhere a questionable jumper can distort a measurement, reduce performance, or create intermittent faults.
A good fit for
- Bench and instrument jumpers
- N-type, BNC, and PL-259 cable assemblies
- Repeater and cavity jumpers
- Field and go-kit cables
- Unknown used coax assemblies
What the report may include
- Insertion-loss and return-loss plots
- Selected marker values and SWR
- Test range and equipment notes
- Connector and condition observations
- Plain-language summary findings
